Inside the Life of
Brandon Gardner

Roots, Inspirations, and Education

Originally from Newport Beach, California, Brandon Gardner now calls Missouri home, where he discovered the spine-chilling tales that would inspire his debut novel, The House of Illusions. Not long after moving, he heard eerie legends about a headless bride haunting a local park and a haunted mansion with a ghost who screams when anyone approaches. These local tales, combined with years of firsthand experiences as a middle and high school counselor, set the stage for a novel that blends humor, suspense, and an authentic take on teenage life.

With two counseling degrees and experience as a clinical therapist in a Federal Medical Prison, Brandon has a deep understanding of human nature and a knack for navigating the wonderfully chaotic world of adolescence.

His writing, inspired by classic stories like The Goonies, The Sandlot, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid,
brings together humor, camaraderie, and mischief in a way that readers of all ages find relatable
and unforgettable.
